They will leave Marseille on September 21, 2025, to swim to Guadeloupe. 3,800 km of effort, 2 world records to break, 1 mission: to bring the ocean into schools.
An extraordinary challenge, an ethical mission
In September 2025, Chloé and Matthieu will leave Marseille aboard the Papagayo catamaran, sailing to Cape Verde before embarking on the Atlantic swimming relay to Guadeloupe—a 3,800 km swim, over three months ; the longest relay in the world. Three months of swimming, a supportive crew, and above all, one goal: to involve 50,000 children and their teachers in this adventure through a free, interactive educational program.
Each week, registrants will receive a theme sheet accompanied by videos, podcasts, and challenges to be completed in class, exploring topics such as water, pollution, ocean currents, and biodiversity. An explanatory sheet is provided for each session to guide teachers. It's a practical, fun, and accessible way to teach students about ecology and ocean issues. Over 43,000 students have already signed up for the new school year!
Why does it affect us so much?
Chloé and Matthieu are not solitary adventurers: they are builders of connections. Their previous exploits—a descent of the Seine, a relay race from Marseille to Barcelona, a challenge on Lake Titicaca—were already invitations for us to experience, if only for a moment, the majesty of the ocean and the fragility of our relationship with it.
On board Papagayo, much more than just a crew, a veritable human and technological laboratory. Water management via a desalinator, daily rations, plant-based and organic food prepared by a Michelin-starred chef—Nadia Sammut—low-tech energy (solar oven, solar generator motor): everything is designed to combine autonomy and respect for the environment. And when you're a brand like TEMO, seeking to eliminate CO₂ emissions, the risk of oil spills, and noise pollution, while promoting French industrial expertise, that really speaks to us!

TEMO, official supplier of Swim for Change
TEMO is proud to be part of this adventure. As the official supplier to Swim for Change, the crew has chosen to equip the catamaran's tender with two TEMO·1000 electric motors and five batteries, ensuring a silent, clean, and reliable extension of this human promise: to sail differently, with respect and awareness. For TEMO, this partnership perfectly embodies our values: innovating to better preserve, making nautical mobility more respectful and accessible, and supporting those who dare to push the boundaries for the planet.
Swim for Change is not just a sporting achievement. It is a message: one of ecology, mutual aid, and resilience. A reminder that the ocean, vast and fragile, deserves our full attention. With every trip out in the dinghy, with every maneuver, the TEMO·1000 will show that another way of sailing is possible.
We will follow this expedition step by step, or rather wave by wave, to share behind-the-scenes insights into this extraordinary crossing with our community.
